Tungt ligger mörkret is an atmospheric Lucia hymn composed to capture the specific stillness of the Nordic midwinter—the contrast between the deep, heavy night and the fragile, hopeful light of the Lucia tradition. The piece was premiered in December 2025 by Kammarkören Cantate and is well-suited for both traditional Lucia processions and Advent concerts looking for a fresh yet reverent addition to the repertoire.
